As a Low Voltage Apprentice Technician, you'll gain hands-on experience working alongside seasoned professionals, learning the intricacies of installing and maintaining low voltage systems. Low Voltage Apprentice

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in pulling, routing, and terminating various cables, including Cat5e, Cat6, coaxial, and alarm/burglary cable.

  • Support the installation and configuration of low voltage systems such as:

    • Security and surveillance systems

    • Audio/visual setups

    • Access control and intercom systems

    • Structured cabling networks

  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic issues under the guidance of lead technicians.

  • Interpret and follow blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored.

Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies during installations and maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and low voltage applications.

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team setting.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Working Conditions

  • Field-based work in both residential and commercial job sites.

  • Exposure to a variety of environments including attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor conditions.

  • Frequent use of ladders and power tools.

Must be able to work safely in noisy or dusty conditions, and in tight or elevated spaces

Physical Requirements

  • Regular use of hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment.

  • Standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 75 lbs.

  • Comfortable working on ladders and scaffolding.
