We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Technician to oversee the installation, integration, and maintenance of low-voltage systems in residential and commercial environments. This position plays a critical role in managing onsite work, ensuring high-quality installations, mentoring junior technicians, and serving as the technical lead on projects involving structured cabling, network systems, surveillance, and home automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Structured Wiring: Perform complex wall fishing, core drilling, and fire-break penetration to run cable through multi-story buildings and hard-to-access areas.

Cable Management: Route, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling including Ethernet, coaxial, speaker wire, and fiber optics across various locations while minimizing visible impact and damage.

Equipment Setup: Install racks, in-wall enclosures, and smart devices such as thermostats, lighting controls, door locks, video doorbells, surveillance cameras, intercoms, and home entertainment systems.

Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, construction documents, and wiring schematics; communicate design changes or installation deviations to project supervisors and stakeholders.

System Maintenance: Patch and paint drywall as necessary, maintain organized wire paths and labeling systems, and perform routine equipment and rack maintenance.

Programming: Support system integration through control platforms such as Control4 or similar smart home ecosystems (training provided if needed).
Qualifications

3+ years of experience in low-voltage, AV, or structured cabling installation.

Strong knowledge of Cat6, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling standards and practices.

Basic networking knowledge (e.g., TCP/IP, IP addressing, router setup).

Experience installing and configuring NVRs, IP cameras, and wireless access points.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction blueprints.

Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work on ladders or elevated surfaces.

High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or technical certification is a plus.
